- Call for help after 1 minute of CPR (single rescuer)
- If two rescuers: one calls, one starts CPR

If collapse witnessed, call for help immediately (likely cardiac)
A - Airway
- Neutral position for infant (small roll under shoulders)
- Sniffing position for child
- Jaw thrust if trauma suspected
B - Breathing
- Look, listen, feel for 10 seconds
- Give 5 rescue breaths if not breathing
WARNING
Paediatric arrest is usually respiratory - prioritise ventilation
C - Circulation
CPR Ratios
- 15:2 (healthcare providers)
- 30:2 (single rescuer or layperson)
Compression Technique
Infant (<1 year):
- Two-thumb encircling technique (preferred)
- Or two-finger technique (single rescuer)
- Depth: 4cm (1/3 chest depth)
Child (1-puberty):
- One or two hands on lower sternum
- Depth: 5cm (1/3 chest depth)
Rate
- 100-120 compressions/min
CAUTION
Full recoil between compressions
D - Defibrillation
- AED with paediatric pads if available
- Child 1-8 years: use paediatric pads/attenuator

- Infant: manual defibrillation preferred if available
