Basic Life Support (BLS)

Key Facts

BLS follows DRSABCD: Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, CPR, Defibrillation.

Adult CPR targets 100–120/min and depth >5 cm (~⅓ chest depth) with full recoil and minimal interruptions.

Compression:ventilation ratio is 30:2 (adult, single rescuer).

Apply an AED as soon as available and resume CPR immediately after shocks/analysis.
